     Gold nuggets have been getting rather scarce, but if vintage old stuff is up your alley — fine antiques, primitives, collectibles, and quality Americana — then you've hit pay dirt! Indeed, whether you're simply shopping about for any old thing that catches your eye or searching in earnest for something specific and rare, you'll find that most of our local antique dealers are as friendly as they are knowledgeable — and always willing to go an extra mile to assure you of an antique shopping experience as pleasant as it is productive!
     While you're here, be sure to visit the many other shops in our charming downtown historic district(s), where our local businesses each project their unique character, offering specialty items and services which can be difficult to find elsewhere.
     After shopping for antiques, be sure to spend some time outdoors -- whether on the river, in the mountains, or at one (or more) of our many wonderful city and county parks. In Ashland you might unwind at Lithia Park, just off The Plaza and around the corner from the Oregon Shakespeare Festival!  With picnic facilities, clean restrooms, swan and duck ponds, an amphitheatre, and a nice playground for the kids and grandkids, the park has a way of getting one back into one's groove, so to speak, while preserving and showcasing a bit of the ancient forest practically within the heart of downtown!  Enjoy a relaxing and calming effect as you meander your way among the rhododendrons beneath the lofty canopy of trees, or if it gets too hot for you head up the creek (or the road) about a half-mile to the community swimming reservoir! (caution: the water is really cold!  you might just want to hang out and tan, or soak your feet at the creekside steps near the playground.)
